March 28th, 2009 by j
We would like to take a moment to thank everyone who has assisted us during the production of The Chicago Conspiracy. They are numerous, and without their help, our work would be impossible.
We are going to release the film in the United States together with friends, and later continue on tour across the country while we prepare for the release in Chile. We will list a tour date soon.

The Chicago Conspiracy: Day of the Youth Combatant
March 28th, 2009 by j
Subversive Action Films presents a short production about the Day of the Youth Combatant in Chile, in anticipation of their upcoming feature-length documentary, The Chicago Conspiracy.
The Day of the Youth Combatant began as protests commemorating the politically motivated assassinations of Rafael and Eduardo Vergara Toledo on March 29, 1985. The brothers were militants of the Revolutionary Left Movement (MIR), during a period of military dictatorship under Augusto Pinochet. Their older brother and fellow-militant of the MIR, Pablo Vergara, was later blown up in 1987.
Family and community members began holding annual protests on the anniversary of the murder, a day now known as the Day of the Youth Combatant.
Years after the murder of their children, Manuel Vergara and Luisa Toledo continue to be spokespeople for the revolutionary movements in Chile.
Youth across Chile continue to mark the Day of the Youth Combatant, not only in memory of the Vergara brothers, but also for all combatants murdered under the military dictatorship and current democratic regime. The long list of fallen combatants under democracy includes militants such as Claudia López, Daniel Menco, and Johnny Cariqueo.
This short production includes protest scenes in Chile, a speech by Luisa Toledo, and an interview with Manuel Vergara and Luisa Toledo, parents of the assassinated Vergara brothers.
With music by CoN$PiRaZioN.
